I made this as a catch-all entry table. Basically, I needed a place to throw my wallet and keys when I walked in the door (because I'm prone to misplacing them otherwise). The tone and form were to serve in contrast to my other furniture, which is primarily darker with a lot of straight lines. The curved stretcher shape was inspired by a piece I once saw from a British furniture maker (whose name I've long since forgotten). The table is made from maple with a mahogany inlay.
