Horse Douvers 1980
This drawing was made in the third grade using my new set of Flair brand of markers. I was so excited to use them and get “all the details” I always had hoped for. The drawing was done for an art project by copying a product label. At the time, I had no idea what hors d’oeuvres were so I simply started called it my “Horse Douvers” drawing. I was really proud of how it turned out, but nothing compared to the pride I felt when my mom thought so much of it that she framed it and hung it in her kitchen, where it still hangs this day.
